Hardscape Design

I first met Tom in 2011.  I was hoping to have him install a paver-stone drive and walk -way.  He was extremely busy, cold-weather was coming and I needed to have the project completed before winter.  I wish I had waited for him.

A few years later, I wanted to have our backyard done.  Tom completed a large project for me.  He built a huge, raised patio, outdoor kitchen, pizza oven, vertical smoker with an offset fire chamber and a lower patio around our pool and hot-tub. The entire yard was tastefully done using a combination of block and masonry (he even fixed flaws with the driveway that another contractor installed a few years prior).  

Tom designed all of it by hand, including the smoker (which consistently produced smoked brisket that can compete with the best spots in Texas).  

Tom is a true owner-operator.  He was onsite daily and, most days, he was working alongside his foreman, Jackson (who is also a top tier mason), and the rest of his crew.  

If there’s a problem with a sub, Tom will make sure it gets addressed immediately.  If there’s a problem with the property, Tom will know how to navigate it.  If you need a specialist, Tom will “know a guy.”  If someone wants to take short cuts, Tom won’t allow it.

Tom’s skill-level, work-quality, authenticity and friendship create a strong force that draws you in.  That’s why, 7 years later, after selling my last house and recently buying a new one, we asked him to come back and do it all over again. 

I don’t believe repeat customers are very common in this trade.  But Tom has a lot of them.  That’s the best testimony anyone can give. 

It’s hard to believe, but with the passage of time, Tom’s great attributes (and great craftsmanship) are now even better!  At a time when covid still put stress on the labor market and the ability to access to materials, Tom pulled a rabbit out of his hat.  This second job got done ahead of schedule despite all the challenges we encountered.  

If you want the combination of aesthetics, quality and longevity, there’s no better person for the job.  It’s quite possible the man can walk on water.
